I've been working at this place for about 7 months now and it's pretty high status. High paying, challenging work with a clear set way of moving up the ranks to earn even more money within the next 7 years. On paper, the job is ideal.

The problem becomes the culture of the company. 10 to 12 hour shifts, fast-paced work carrying and working with metal weighing upwards of 150lbs. I make a lot of mistakes, I'm new and still learning. The stress from coworkers is outrageous: any mistake and they ride my ass for the next week while calling me an idiot. The majority of them will not slow down to tell me what they want, and if I ask too many questions I get chewed out. All other people I was hired with are in the same position as me. My injuries to date include spraining both knees, spraining my left ankle, spraining my lower back, frostbite on my one toe, and ripping the skin on both forearms of which required stitches on the one. I have not taken any time off of work to allow my body to heal for fear of being laid off.

I am at my breaking point and no longer have any energy to even make coffee for the morning anymore. I haven't had more than 2 days off at a time since 2016 regardless of this job, and feel like if I were to just take a month or so off I'd be in a much better headspace. I'm hesitant to just hand in my two weeks due to fear of the unknown awaiting me if I decide to do so.
