I did not grow up a naturally selfish person but recently I have noticed more and more desire to follow through on my selfish urges. I wanted to ask some input into what people here feel is appropriate, not really morally as I still have standards for myself but rather what is appropriate to do with women.

I think the major problem is that I simply have such an abundance mentality, extreme self-confidence, total lack of approach anxiety, and high enough success rate that is has the potential to corrupt me. My in-person game is incredible. When a date is even slightly not what I'm looking for, I have this desire just to find another woman because I can and will. Obviously ditching a date I don't really find attractive is beneath me so I don't do it. But let's say we're at a basketball game and I go by myself to get food and a beautiful woman is standing behind me. I have the urge to talk and get her phone number (meanwhile, my date is still in the stands). I am unsure if this is appropriate or inappropriate. Obviously it is inappropriate from an etiquette perspective (and I'm not dumb enough to let my date see it), but on the other side I would hate to miss out on a new friend/experience out of some misconstrued notion of chivalry.

How do people here keep their selfishness in check? And more importantly, how much selfishness do you allow yourself to have?
