Let me give you a butchered description. I'm not an expert but have studied both and dealt with people with both.

Bipolar disorder is like having little control over your feelings, and they become extreme and make you act in extreme ways.

Humans naturally have up and down mood cycles that are cyclical. Bipolar people sometimes when their mood goes into a depressive or happy(manic) phase go very extreme. Depressive phase leads them to be depressed, suicidal, hopeless, destructive in an overtly negative way. The happy phase goes into a manic state, where they will irrationally do positive things, like fuck lots of people, take on a huge project impulsively, go on shopping sprees and binge eating. Then eventually the manic state passed and they look back and see the horror of their behavior.

Borderline personality disorder typically does involve extreme emotions, but more importantly there's a fundamentally broken personality beneath it all, constantly searching for ways to feel better and cope. There are several ways it manifests, but in all of them you will essentially see highly short sighted and irrational behavior. They typically go through periods of building their life up, making friends, seeming normal enough, having a good time, and then they'll destroy it all in fits of blind actions, and when all have abandoned them, they move to a new social circle and repeat. Highly manipulative, no morality, no end game, typically very chaotic in reasoning and emotions. You can think of a song playing in their head always going 'I love you I hate you' repeating endlessly forever. Harley Quinn and Taylor Swift are great archetypes of BPD women. Look at what they say/lyrics for a glimpse of the madness.

A borderline is an outrageously manipulative, pathological liar lacking any shred of empathy with a hamster on meth and steroids to rationalize completely unacceptable behavior. If you've ever heard of gaslighting, that's another tool in their tool box they use regularly to gain control over their partner. They'll totally erode your self confidence, sense of worth and make you question your own sanity if you let them.

A borderline has no real sense of self or who they are as a person and 99% of them would rather die than let anyone see who they truly are under the mask. Run. If you want to investigate further, be warned. She just told you who she is, you should believe her.

I'm not a doctor, but I dated a BPD woman for 2 years, it was the most frustrating and exhausting relationship I've ever encountered. The scariest part is, its really hard to recognize that you're dealing with a Borderline until a long while later. Good luck...

well for starters there is no such thing as "bipolar personality disorder" it's bipolar disorder or borderline personality disorder.

this mix up makes me think she's just brandishing herself with a disorder to make up for her shitty personality with 0 responsibility because of her "BPD" (which is all the rage with women). anyways stay away from cluster B type personalities, they are an absolute fucking melt.
