I understand that women are the gatekeepers of sex and that men are the gatekeepers of commitment. I also understand that it's the girl that should ideally bring up the topic.

However, I am wondering if there are certain circumstances where it is okay for the guy to bring it up?

Basically, I've been seeing this girl for 5 months and feel that she is great LTR material. This girl is super shy and I'm not sure If I can see her bringing the topic up. We are both 19 and she hasn't been with any other guys and so is relatively inexperienced. I feel like she doesn't really know what I want and is too shy to ask. She is aware that we've been exclusive for a while now due to our friends chatting.

I am wondering if it would be seen as 'weak' of me to be the one that brings it up? or if it's fine in this situation? If not should I just wait it out?
