Yes, you will be affected if you don't know how to talk to people in general. Social circles give practice, and also grounding.

To be a pick up source, social circles are too small and limited. Worse, if you start fucking all the girls of that small little pond, all the males will hate you.

But having a social circle is good for social proofing. It is much easier to do cold approaches if women see you with other people, specially women.

If you ever met a total whore, turn her into your friend. An honest, sexless friend. If you can't, but you have a female cousin, recruit her.

Help her to pick up men, and get her to help you picking women. Just approaching a girl with another woman in your arms makes it much easier.

A female wing also may give you good advice (but of course, you need your red pill radar active, because women also may give extremely wrong advice).
