Starbucks might be a little bit different but when I'm on a first date at a bar/drinks venue I say something like "ill get the first round". Frame it so that it's expected that you both contribute equally but you're just getting the ball rolling

Another game I like to play related to this is see how much of a tab I can run up on her round while keeping the drinks on my round as cheap as possible

I enter the date prepared to pay. It’s more of me having a clear conscience that “I’ve got plenty of cash that spending X amount won’t hurt me financially “. I guess women picked up on my confidence about this since most of them paid for the first date. However you should be prepared to pay. Being concerned about a few bucks at Starbucks is lame. If you can’t afford to go on dates find cheaper ones, preferably free dates. When I was in college I went to get ice cream and 100% of the time got one cup and shared that shit with the girl. It’s cheaper that way, more intimate, and tests her interest level all in one fell swoop. This only works in the summer. In winter I’d go window shopping down town.

Don’t over think it and have fun.

Drinks 5 minutes from one of your residences. Start the date at 9pm. If she’s down after a couple of drinks, buy her drinks and go home to fuck. If she’s not down, split the bill and go home.

Personally I never pay on a first date but im not sure it matters much. Guys buying drinks is typical and often overused as a form of nice guy ness.

Coffee day date doesn't matter. Only you matter. Ive actually had great success hooking up after coffee in the day if shes free. I get the fear some guys have that she'll put you in the friends zone probably based on that movie just friends but the reality is it doesnt matter.
