I'm a big coffee drinker and I love my preworkout. Recently, I've found that my caffeine intake is affecting my sleep and doesn't improve my focus/energy as much as I'd like it to (has a very mild impact). Caffeine improves my workouts in the gym but impacts my recovery (sleep) so I don't think it has much of a net benefit for me. I''m experimenting 2 weeks without caffeine to see how things progress but I think in the future 1 cup on the morning is the right amount, given that the high end of the elimination half life is 9.5 hours.

I'm thinking about quitting caffeine completely and taking modafanil Mon-Fri to help with energy and focus during the day. I've tried Adrafanil and it helps me stay awake but doesn't have a huge impact on my focus (not like adderall, ritalin, etc.) but I'm looking more for that wide awake, alertness. However, I think Adrafanil is a shitty drug given the hepatoxicity and I think when it passes through the liver less that 100% is converted to Modafanil. Does anyone have experience using Modafanil? Did it help and would you recommend it?
