I've changed quite a bit over the past two years I like to think, but certainly recognize that it was only a year ago, I was essentially a "beta-orbiter" for this one. Let's call her Jane.

I met Jane, because she's the sister of another female coworker (who is also hot). She showed up for a work party, we seemed to hit it off, she said I was cute, and that was kind of it. She'd come up as a suggested friend on facebook, I added her, which I now realize is *the deathknell of all sexual energy" (seriously; if you connect via social media, you become 100% "available", don't do what my stupid ass used to).

We chatted a bit, and then fell off the radar. A few months into covid, I'd searched her, and found she'd removed me as a friend (maybe even blocked me? or maybe deleted her profile).

Honestly hadn't thought anything of it until just now, when I get an email that she's being hired this month.

Now... considering there was really nothing between us, aside from a bit of nervousness, I assume the best approach is to just act the role of "strictly-platonic coworker", right? Whenever I inevitably see her (they always walk the new hires around to meet everyone), just be like "Oh hey, good to see you!", and leave it at that.

Don't try to "be friends" or "make small talk", just treat her like any other coworker that I have minimal interaction with.

Is that... a pretty solid approach? Just "water under the bridge", she's just any other person at the company?
