Nobody cares about men.

If more men realised this and then started to take responsibility for their own health, happiness and financial independence instead of chasing a fairy-tale life or being welfare dependent the suicide rates would drop.

The increased accessibility of porn from a young age can't help either. I mean porn isn't even tabooed anymore, it's seen as a normal hobby and even being pushed as an educational tool by some members of the industry. Nothing can be more emasculating for a guy in his 20s who can't get his dick hard for a girl due to nothing more than a decade plus of fapping to porn.

It still is and has always been ok to bash men and joke about our inadequacies. We have been relentlessly bashed for decades by the mainstream media, the education system and popular culture. And according to feminists the highest potential a man could ever realise is on the same level as some character as Homer Simpson or Peter Griffin.

It's all well and good to learn and be able to takes the metaphorical punches that life and society throws at you, that's what men do. BUT the political left, while continuously attacking masculinity has also destroyed the nuclear family and made father figures obsolete. There are so many boys growing up without good father figures (some fathers are deadbeat dads I'm not denying that) to help them through the trials and tribulations in their formative years and give their sons a true rite of passage in manhood. The the cold hard reality of life hits men in their 20s, 30s or 40s it hits hard... sometimes too hard.

The majority of men can't get regular intimacy from women. Moreover women rarely feel empathy or respect for men they're not attracted to. Furthermore, a woman's negative emotions and ill-being are always men's fault. Especially the mythical "patriarchy." Remember that stereotypical male power exists because women don't want responsibility or initiative.They unconsciously expect men to do it. Moreover they reward men for exercising status and power.

So, you have a huge chunk of the male population that's treated as being repulsive, or as failures, or having no personal worth. Particularly men without established careers and other status symbols.

(I'm not saying that there aren't women treated this way, but that basically boils down to being a total moron, or being dramatically insane. Getting men to care about you and pay attention, is easy as shit.)

Some men choose to take this particularly to heart.

It's also true that testosterone causes heightened aggression, in this case it seems to apply to aggression against the self. So men are likely to use more violent and aggressive methods, which are also more likely to succeed.

You can find the answer right in the Wikipedia article you posted: "The reported difference in suicide rates for males and females is partially a result of the methods used by each gender. Although females attempt suicide at a higher rate, they are more likely to use methods that are less immediately lethal."

One of the reason for this is that for example, men are more likely to own a firearm than women, who prefer less tragic ways to commit suicide, like taking pills. Some have also claimed that women don't want them to be found in a bloody, messy state afterwards, which would be more shocking for the person who finds the body.

Josh went to state school for electrical engineering. He wasn't super bright, and he wasn't super committed. He quit college after 2 semesters, failed a few classes, and felt alienated from his community.

Jenny wasn't super bright, and wasn't super committed. She went to college for Psychology at a state school. She graduated with a 3.33 gpa, was a member of some clubs, and even did some undergraduate research because she was worried that she was supposed to and it'd look bad that if she didn't. None of the biggest, best guys ever really looked at her, but she had a few flings with 2nd tier guys, and eventually ended up with a boyfriend with a semi-bright future that seemed to like her. She didn't really want him that badly, but he kept asking her out, and doing all the work, and so she felt appreciated, and comfortable in the understanding that he had a good career ahead of him.

Marissa didn't go to college. She became a waitress. She was fairly pretty. Guys hit on her a lot, but for the most part they were disgusting, though occasionally she'd get with a guy in a suit, or with a 6'3'' guy with tattoos. Her on again off again bf was the latter type. Eventually she met a mechanic that was a bit chubby, but a bit muscled, and average height, but had a real Good Guy Greg personality. They got married.

Michael didn't go to college. Michael was 5'7''. Michael wasn't really outgoing. No one invited him anywhere, no one tried to be his friend. He applied for a waiting position but didn't get it. He worked in a call center. He made 31k last year. He got on Tinder and never matched with anyone. He masturbated and played video games.

Diana was a 45 year old woman. Life wasn't really what it had been at 23, but she had a couple of kids that would call her, and she really cared about them, and she had some cats, and she had television. She had some friends, and if she really wanted sex she could get it

David was a failure. He was 45 and still made below median US income. He had no skills outside of basic home maintenance and some woodworking, no real career He hadn't seen his kids since they were small. He presented well, was fairly clean, but as soon as he told women what he did for a living their demeanors would switch immediately. His life wasn't going anywhere, and he knew it. Was this good enough? It wasn't.

I thought that women try to kill themselves more often, but men succeed more times than women. Why? Men aren't afraid to use guns, which are very effective, while women use drugs as their primary method, which is not as effective.

This is just what I think, and I could be totally wrong.

Because if a man puts his heart and soul into something and it completely fucks up, he is fucked, and for some people suicide is an option.

But a woman? Women have it easy. They can completely fuck up their life, then pack up their shit, and move it into a guys life. They always get another chance.

I thought it was related to the support network that men and women have. That is to say, for many men they have zero support networks and women can go to both other women and fellow men for support.
