Went out to the bar tonight and came across a solid 9. Hesitated for ages on approaching as she was with her friend, who had a boyfriend and thus I didn't really want to deal with another dude. Some time passes, the friend walks up to the bar to grab a drink and I make some casual comments about wishing there was a dance floor. Aforementioned 9/10 overhears and they both started dancing and shit later. The boyfriend was standoffish/didn't have a good frame, so I figured fuck it I'll talk to them some more. Both are complete shit faced, incapable of any conversation. I get nervous, say some dumb shit, 2 minutes later as I'm now faced the opposite direction since the 9 I wanted wasn't being open towards me, I catch Miss Drunky with the boyfriend saying how I'm somehow making them feel nervous? They disappear shortly after; whatever.

Obviously I fucked up somewhere, my game is not perfect. But I've encountered this situation plenty of times. These fucking pack animals; it seems like they're all super protective of each other and have some sort of committee when they go out in deciding what kind of guy to let into their group. No, bitch, you're fucking fat/awkward yourself, I don't want you, I want your pretty friend. Same bullshit happened later in the night. Chicks far below what I should be able to pull acting very forward and inviting, then getting all bitter when I don't engage.

How do you separate them from their friends? Huge barrier for me as it seems like girls seldom go out at night alone for obvious reasons.
