Hey guys, super awkward situation that happened to me at my work’s Christmas party.

Please note: my team is mostly composed of females (manager, director, etc) so gossip definitely happens in the office) keep this in mind for the following info).

Drunk female co-worker cornered me at the work Christmas party, told me that I need to step up my work (she’s one level above me, nothing crazy), says I need to help out more, that people aren’t happy with me (she specifically called out my main manager and director) and that she cares about me that’s why she’s telling me because she doesn’t want to see me fail and that I have soooo much potential. (I don’t really know this girl that well outside of work, I keep my personal life and work life separate, so the fact that she “cares about me” is complete bullshit off the bat. She also told me how she was going through a rough home because she broke up with her ex at the beginning of the year and I stopped her and said “okay so what does this have to do with me stepping it up at work?”

What she told me was the complete opposite of my annual performance review which came directly from Management two weeks ago.... So basically what she told me conflict with that info.

Side note: I had my annual performance review two weeks ago, with no issues, positive feedback and as an entry level employee I am on track for the next step.

So guys my question now is.... where the hell do I go from here? My initial plan was to book a 1 on 1 meeting with my manager tomorrow and tell her directly, “this is what was said, it’s pretty concerning especially since the person told me that you specifically were not happy with me” “this info also conflicts with my performance review, I just want to know why this person would go out of their way to tell me all of this”.

So with all this being said, what are your thoughts? Ultimately I’d like to keep my job, at the same time I also am actively looking for other opportunities.

Thoughts? Fucking awkward right?
