my LTR tried something like this back in the dating stage. She was a PhD and out earned me by 2-3x early on; it didn't bother me, she hinted it bothered some guys she had dated, meh.

We were at a fancy ass white table cloth dinner, her treat this time; taking us out.

I hadn't been to this specific joint, but to others like it. She had been there many times with co-workers for business lunches and white-collar-happy hour, so she was feeling a little full of herself telling me of her favorite things on the menu, and blabbing on a bit.

We had an opening cocktail, our normal pattern; but I like red wine with steak. They had a huge wine list. As I was browsing the bottles, she made a comment like: "you gotta earn that (pointing to the wine) and this (pointing to herself)"

I smiled, closed the wine list and looked her dead in the eye, still smiling. i spewed some cocky bs like: "baby, keep that up and I won't be fucking your brains out tonight" i kept smiling but didn't break the gaze. She demurred, adjusted her napkin and said: "wine it is!" and laughed and blushed. To this day, "wine it is!" is one of our code words for "she wants my dick" when she wants to leave a party or event.....

What's your value OP? Are you willing to walk away from a raw deal? Are you willing to call the bluff of someone who plays brinkmanship with your worth?

I just say "Sure."

Then later on when we're making out or fooling around, I make her as wet as I can and each time she starts to go further, I stop her and tell her that she needs to 'earn it'. but I don't stop.

It drives them wild.

I've had one almost rip my belt off at that.
