TL;DR:

Grew up with controlling parents → no social skills, no friends, couldn't talk to girls.

Moved out, got a job, tried making friends → too anxious, got excluded and ghosted.

Found pickup/social skills courses (RSD, Todd V) – gives hope, but unsure if it's the fix.

Tried hobby groups too → same result: quiet, anxious, rejected.

Now completely alone and asking for real help.

Details:

Hi guys, I'll try to keep this short. Due to my toxic clingy parents, I was pretty much never allowed to make friends. All decisions were made for me, it was pre-determined who I can or cannot speak to, and girls were a big no no.

Long story short I'm an adult who does not know how to be normal. I don't know how friendships work, I have a history of being excluded from social circles and friend groups.

I recently was able to move out of the hell my home is and land a decent paying job. I came here looking to make friends but I just wasn't able to keep up. I wasn't able to foster a deep friendship with anybody, sat quietly in group conversations. Initially people asked me to come and I was just so anxious i would go with them but never speak.

This group kicked me out as well and now I sit all alone. I eat alone. I am never invited anywhere. I find out about birthday parties a week later.

I recently stumbled upon game and this legit seems like my last hope. I met some people online who pointed me to some old rsd courses. I binges hotseat at home, the natural, Todd V's courses and videos and it gave me some hope. But coming from the place I'm coming from, I don't know if this is the fix.

I've tried the local hobby groups scene as well and once again I end up anxious and quiet, nobody likes me in those places. I actually was starting to make a friend or two in these places but all of them ghosted me one by one.

Please help me.
