Cancelled approach

I enter a square and walk by next to a girl. I'm not sure if I want to approach her but I prefer to try. I make a circle around the square so that literally everyone can see my intention. Still, there is almost nobody there. Once I'm literally 3 meters close in front of her I realize she has a piece of a religious clothing on (rather hard to pull) and I can't really see her but she doesn't look my type and her face makes me abandon my plan.

Unattempt approach

Seconds after the cancelled approach I see a 30-40 year old lady, very tanned, blonde, with an okay physique leaving the parking lot. It's just a bit more inconvenient to get close enough to her to make an approach. For some reason I punk out. I feel like chit because of it.

Successful approach

Right before I talk with a friend for quite a bit so I'm feeling a bit warmed up verbally and socially. She literally crosses my path so it is only natural to stop her. Blond hair, young, and more or less petite. The same standard direct opener about the looks. I talk slightly too fast but for some reason it seems to be working. A quick and a little boring convo, hit her with some of my strong points. One redditor's suggestion hits me and I check her availability to instantly set up a date. For some reason my mouth doesn't shut and midway I start talking about something else. Just as I'm getting her number her friend (an absolute stunner) arrives. I assume this one time asking for a number too soon paid off.

Lessons

  1. Not sure if I should wear my glasses when outside.
    1. On one hand they give me some vision boost but on the other they decrease my appearance. A tough choice but I prefer to try to approach one too many times than to sabotage my success rates which suck anyways.
  2. Directly setting up a date
    1. Not doing this has given me 0 success so far. Every next time I'll try to instantly set up a date if possible.
  3. STFU
    1. I got to STFU more often than not and let the girl do more of the talking. Especially the first few approaches when I'm not in the flow and my nervousness makes me do stupid things.
