I created a Twitter account where I only post bad memories of my relationship with her, and all the ways she fucked me over. Then, when I get sad or depressed, I read all the tweets. I don't follow anyone, so only my tweets show up in my news feed. I named my account @FightOnMyMen after my favorite poem of all time.
The Ballad of Sir Andrew, 1599
"Fight on my men, Sir Andrew said,
A little I'm hurt, but not yet slain,
I'll just lie here and bleed awhile,
Then I'll rise and fight again."
I love it because it's a metaphor for me. It's okay to lie down and let your emotional wounds bleed, but get back up, get STRONGER, and FIGHT AGAIN.
I recommend anyone going through a break up to do this. It's very therapeutic. Writing out your emotions is healthy.. Couple of things though, to make it easier on yourself.
-I recommend you make it an anon account, to avoid drama. -Obviously don't witch hunt your ex or encourage others to do so. -Use it as a journal. A journal can get lost or misplaced, and can't be taken everywhere. But your phone pretty much can, which is the benefit of using Twitter (or Facebook, IG, Reddit, whatever) as journal. The internet can go almost anywhere with you, and you can't lose or misplace it.
