Hello, and welcome to my thread.
For those of you that missed my first two parts, here are the links:
Part 1
Part 2
I won't repeat anything that I mentioned in my first two parts because to be honest it is pretty basic knowledge and with the limitations I have on text space, I am going to just jump right to the topics I want to cover in this installment.
The conclusion to my second part had me saying that in this installment, I will be talking about how to make the jump from being a stranger to a friend. I am going to lay off on how to make the jump from friend to potential partner in this one, and as for picking up girls or hooking up with them, that is going to be done in a TOTALLY different installment in the future, probably a few parts in.
Okay, so like I always do, let's set up a scenario. You just got a new job, working with many different people. In this job, there are many different girls. Maybe a few are attractive. Okay, I lied, maybe they're ALL attractive.
"Oh damn here we go fresh game to pick up hellz yeah gonna get right on that ish"- No.
If you are only viewing the girls as "meat to lay your game on" then you are acting like a total tool bag and you are going about it all wrong. If that is what you're looking for, then I suggest waiting a few days til I come out with my installment on hooking up with girls at parties, and even then, you probably won't be acting that way from that either.
Okay, so you have new co-workers and many of them are attractive. And you also have new guy co-workers too.
Okay, so using the first two topics in my first two guides, you start your first day of work smiling, maintaining good, strong body language, you smell fantastic, you are dressed fairly sharp, maybe a new haircut, you are listening to what the girl's have to say, and above all you are radiating a good, positive energy and colorful personality.
If you got that far, then awesome.
Okay so let's say there is a girl there that you seem to be able to talk to better than the other's. You don't know what it is, you just have an easier time making conversation with her, she appears to listen to what you're saying, she gives you some time of the day. So you decide you want to work off that.
Here is what you do not want to do, do not over assume your position. Just because she smiles at you, laughs at your jokes, maintains eye contact with you, engages you out of the blue, etc. does not mean she "wants your dick." If anything, she is comfortable talking to you and knows she can talk to you and be friendly. DON'T BLOW IT MAN. I, yes, "I", have blown soooooooooo many relationships with girls by jumping the gun and assuming I'm "in" with a girl. They acted friendly, I became overly attached, and then I scare them away. You don't want to do this. It's been a long while since it's happened to me, but believe me it is a bridge not worth burning.
"But Random Guy what if I wait too long and the girl slips through my fingers?!! Don't you know you miss 100% of the shots you don't take??!!"
Whoa okay I know that. I am not saying to NEVER try with the girls that become friendly with you, I'm just saying, don't raise unrealistic expectations for someone you just met. For example: some guy I met in my freshman year of college would become DEVASTATED when a girl he just met at a party the night prior wouldn't return his texts. "Oh yup this is how it always goes, I'll never get a girlfriend. I should just marry my bed because that's the only thing that will sleep with me. Blah blah blah I'll be lonely forever blah."
Jesus christ that guy was annoying, I would always tell him, you JUST met the fucking chick last night. How in the world can you have such heavy expectations from someone that has ZERO obligation to you? But that's a different story for another day.
No, the best way to handle a girl that is acting friendly with you, is to take a deep breath, slick your hair back, and be cool. (Okay don't slick your hair back you'll look weird) But you get what I mean. Take it in slow strides. One rung at a time. If a girl is comfortable around you to make jokes or come up to you at the coffee machine, then you're obviously doing it right so far, no need to fix something that isn't broke.
Just keep chipping away at it. As the days go on and your interaction gets better and better, start experimenting a bit. Throw in some funny lines, or what hobbies you enjoy doing, or what your family is like. Or, if you want to utilize one of your "Advanced Basics" from the last thread (Lolz seriously I'm trademarking that shit) then maybe ask HER what her hobbies are, what's her family like, what area is she from, what school. You'd be surprised how much you have in common with someone after asking a few simple questions.
Also as the time moves on try and be as fun as you can. Be yourself, but if you can make the time she spends with you enjoyable and keep the pattern repeating, she will want to keep hanging out with you. She won't get bored of the interaction she spends with you, and you won't get stuck in what I call, "Small Talk Limbo".
Small Talk Limbo is like the worst thing ever. You basically can never get over the hump to being friends and you're only seen as "that nice guy" that chats from time to time. This is NOT the friend zone. (Oh boy, that's for later).
After you've got some time in with this girl, you've been friendly with her, listened to her, you've learned a good deal of things from her, make the jump. Okay, that was really cheesy bolding that lol. It's not THAT critical, just give it a shot. Maybe what you can do first is ask her if she has any social media and say you'll follow her on there. Once you've done that, you're nearly in the clear.
When you've established that then ask her for her number. In my experience, I've asked for girl's numbers in many many different ways and fashions. You can go for the semi-curious, "Hey, can I have your number?" You can go for the more firm, "Hey, what's your number?" Maybe add on to one of those, "Hey, can I have your number? I'll text you some time."
Whatever way you do it, be as nonchalant and confident about it as you can. Don't try and play all nervous and school boyish and be like, "Hey, um hand behind head can I um, have your number please?" That doesn't work. Just ask the question and keep that smile on your face.
Now, most chances are, she will give you her number on the spot. If the signs have been positive, then she will have no problem giving it to you. Getting the number isn't the hard part, it's interacting with her through that number. I'll explain in a bit.
If she gives you a long winded answer like, "Oh I would but my phone blah blah blah" then she isn't interested. If she tells you, "Okay but I don't text very much" or "Okay but I am not really looking for any kind of relationship right now", that's OK. She gave you her number, feel it out and try texting her one night.
Also a quick message for all you fine gents out there, some girls fucking HATE talking on the phone. If you really want to talk to a girl on the phone and you ask and she declines, then there could be the possibility she isn't comfortable enough with you to do that, but there is a HUGE chance she just doesn't feel like it or dislikes the concept. Many girls I'm friends with have told me they hate talking on the phone, it's just kind of awkward. Texting is much better because you have room to kind of dance around your interaction. You can do things you can't do in real life or voice-to-voice.
With that being said, now you've got her number. Okay, here is the next part. This part is the hardest part of parts in the whole part scheme and the instruction for these parts are written in a foreign part language that makes it hard to put these parts together parts.
When you text her, if she doesn't answer back after like two days, wait. Wait maybe a few more days, hell maybe even a week. Go ahead and text her again. DON'T TEXT HER BEING LIKE "OH HEY WHY DIDN'T YOU TEXT ME BACK I TEXTED YOU YESTERDAY"
NO. NO. NO. NO. NO.
It will make you look clingy and you will come off as very needy. This girl has ZERO fucking obligation to you. You're not married. You're not soul mates. You're casual friends that you met probably like two weeks ago. Don't do this, ever. It will NOT work in your favor trust me.
If you text her the first time and she doesn't respond, but then the next day at work she says something like, "Oh I'm sorry I didn't get back to your text oh my god blah blah blah" then chill. In my book of books, she damn well knew you wanted to talk and she damn well had time to respond. If a girl ever tells you she was "busy" and couldn't respond, yeah that's probably a load of horse shit. You still have one more grace period after that point, but just get ready to pack your bags and get on the next train to the next girl, because you are probably on the "not interested" list.
Okay, so she didn't respond the first time. At this point, you're in your hotel room, it's the last night of your vacation. Your bags are packed, you've got your clothes laid out for the morning, you're ready to check out of the hotel.
One final go, after maybe a week or 3-4 days of waiting, you text her back, just a casual hello again, maybe ask her what she's up to or how her day is going. If she DOES NOT text you back after this, pack your bags and head out my man. She isn't interested and she isn't worth your time. If she wanted to respond, BELIEVE ME, she'll respond.
If she texts you back the next day saying something like, "Oh sorry I missed your text blah blah blah" then casually say "That's alright" and try and reestablish the conversation. If after you send her back a continuation of a conversation and she doesn't respond or somehow does the same thing over again, fucking move on. She isn't interested.
Here is a word of fucking advice to you guys out there. Don't, and I mean like, don't, just go and get all emotional that this girl isn't responding.
Let me tell you guys a secret, the reason girls don't respond to guys that text them, is because they don't want to appear bitchy by telling the guy they aren't interested in talking to them. I know it sounds CRAZY, hell, many of you will probably call me stupid for thinking that, but it's true. I know, us guys would rather have the girl straight up tell us she isn't interested, but that's just the difference between guys and girls.
Even if you move on from trying to text this girl, stay positive and kind to her in the workplace. Don't avoid her or act angry when you talk to her next, that will only show you can't take her not talking to you and it looks pretty fucking immature, honestly. Be the man and stay active in your conversation, but try not to flirt as much. If the girl acts distant, then give her her distance. Don't try and apologize for trying to talk to her and get closer to her. YOU DON'T NEED TO APOLOGIZE, WHAT FOR? All you did was tried to talk to her. You didn't try to put a ring around her finger or do anything out of the ordinary. You were interested and she wasn't, boom, case closed.
If this girl is acting distant around you, then she needs to grow the fuck up. She is acting really immature by ignoring you just because you wanted to get to know her better outside of work, and for that not only would she not be a good match for you, but she flat out wouldn't be a good friend for you.
Now, sorry for the negativity. If she DOES respond to you and she keeps conversation active, then keep rolling with it. YOU'RE NOT IN THIS YET MY MAN. Just be friendly, be flirty, be fun, keep up that rhythm. When the time seems right, ask her if she wants to hang out sometime.
HOLY SHIT DON'T FUCKING ASK HER OUT TO SOME BIG FANCY DINNER. You need to build your foundation first before you go all Marvin Gaye on this chick. Invite her out to get some coffee or go to dinner at a casual place.
WHEN I SAY CASUAL I MEAN LIKE APPLEBEES OR RED ROBIN, GOD FORBID MAN DO NOT TAKE HER TO MCDONALDS OR A SHITTY FAST FOOD PLACE. It will make her think she is cheap and not worth your time. Have a little class, man.
Also, another tip is to invite her out to a group of people. Groups are always good because it eases up on any awkward levels that could be shared between just two people, you will not be juggling the attention as much and you can have other people with you to alleviate the stress of meeting out for the first time. Just don't completely ignore her either. Try and be closer to her in general for the time you spend together and don't leave her hanging too much. That's not to say don't be all over her the entire time, but try and find a balance between making sure you're in her spotlight, and making sure she is enjoying herself with the other company as well, not just you.
If she says yes, then good for you man. This still doesn't mean you're "in" but god damn you at least got yourself a date.
Shit I'm getting fucking hungry so I'll have to continue the next installment later. The next installment will be on getting even closer beyond friends, and avoiding the dreaded friend zone.
Toodles peeps.
