Hey what's up people, I'm Just a Random Guy on the Internet. I posted back here long ago (Like a year almost?) asking about advice for getting girls or something like that. I can honestly say that at the time I was feeling a little unsure of myself and I needed help and while many people gave me some good tips, it was ultimately myself that made the changes necessary to becoming better at making friends that are girls and having higher success rates at parties in college (I'll be a sophomore this Fall.)
Okay so firstly let me explain what this guide is about. For the most part, I am really bored and I figured I'd make a guide on here because my creative drive has resurfaced, but mostly I'm just bored (LOL). I wanted to help some of you out that are posting here for advice because I feel like I have a lot of input on my discoveries and experiences I've had in my freshman year of college as well as just life in general.
Let me make it pretty clear, I am NOT perfect by any means when it comes to girls. But I have had many experiences in the past getting with girls and talking to them has become a breeze instead of the awkward encounters that always fail. Does this mean I don't still have awkward encounters? HElllll no. I still have fuck ups, like 20% of the time. It's natural. Not every attempt you make at talking to girls will go your way. There will always be times when you're really fucking feeling it and you get a girl's number 1 2 3, then there will always be times where you have NO idea what you could possibly say to this cute girl and all you do is make eye contact with her knowing she is right there for you to sweep her off her feet, but your mind comes up blank on what to say.
It's alright though, I've got your back. This guide will also be collaborative, because like I said, I don't have ALL the answers. I'm not some Fabio McChadDudeBro. I don't get all the ladies. But I do still have success with them, and I am a pretty average guy too. I want to represent all the quiet, shy, or modest guys out there and help them out, because I was there, and to a certain extent, I still am. But on the other hand, I've grown soooo much in the area and I want to help some of y'all out.
So for three easy payments of $39.99, all these secrets can be for YOU! (LOL JK).
Okay, but for real now. If anyone wants to offer their advice too, then feel free to leave a comment and I will edit it into the original post, if this post even gets that much attention. Some of you may tell me I've got it all wrong, or my advice is shit, or it goes against the "rules of the pick-up game". Well while this is my opinion and it may only work for some people, I think the whole "rules" thing is a load of bullshit. Girls are all different. What one girl may like is totally different for another. I don't care what 10 Commandments have been set up for getting the girl, when it comes down to actual reality, they are just people. I HATE guys that try and shove their "pick up" game on other guys trying to learn. You are disregarding them as people and pretty much objectifying them. It's disrespectful and douchey. I'm sorry if some of you guys reading this do that but really, it's annoying.
Now that that is out of the way, let me start this guide off simple. I realize I got a bit sidetracked up there, but here you go: Let's start with just talking to a girl. Just you and her, one on one. Let me set up the scenario:
Let's say you're out getting groceries, say the cereal aisle. You can't figure out if you want Frosted Flakes or Lucky Charms, damn so many choices, then SUDDENLY this really cute girl walks into the aisle looking for the same thing you're looking for, a box of cereal. Now many, many, many things are probably flowing through your mind. What could you say? Is she single? Damn she's attractive. I better act fast. Did she look my way?
Just chill.
Chances are, she is just looking for some cereal. She is probably not expecting a random guy to come up and start laying game on her. She most likely got that two other times today.
That doesn't mean you aren't allowed to go up and talk to her though.
However, first take notice of her body language. Is she crossing her arms? Does she have a frown on her face? Does she look pissed off? If she does not look friendly or nice, then I would strongly advise you lay off and let her be. Especially for fragile guys just starting in this trying to get out of their comfort zone, you will most likely be shut down hard and you will have trouble coming back from this.
Even with that being said, there is still a chance it may not work out. If you do go up to her and she shoots you down, hey don't worry. Take a breath, smile, and laugh at the attempt, you tried your hardest. This will make a great story to your friend's at some point.
See I think a lot of guys overthink things. Don't do that. A lot of guys build up girls like "Jeez she is so damn gorgeous if I don't get this girl's number then I am such a fuck up." Relax, there are like 3 million girls out there lol. Not to mention you are trying to pick a girl up in a store and that is not even that easy, since a store is usually not a place you go and try to pick up chicks. I realize I was the one that set up this scenario lmao but I'm just using it as an example.
Really, I believe you can talk to girls anywhere at anytime. Okay maybe not any time because you need to know when it's a good time to try and when it's not. But for now, you are in the grocery store.
So let's say this girl doesn't have her arms crossed, and she looks decently approachable. What do you say to this girl that won't make you look like a creep and at the same time will start a conversation with her? Well, let me offer another tip: Do not spend a long time thinking about what you'll say. The longer you wait, the longer you will psych yourself out and that will only discourage you further and further from approaching. It will make that initial entry really hard to follow through with, and you will be stuck with your mind reeling when surprise-she has already taken her cereal and left the building.
One thing I can say, is to try and be easy-going and laid-back. Don't come up to her and ask her why she likes Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Don't tell her that there are 50 grams of sugar in the box of cereal she just picked up and that is bad for your health. Don't tell her that her eyes are as blue as the blue Fruitloops.
Instead, try and engage her in a calm and light-hearted manner. "Hey, do you have any recommendations here?" "Hey, are you stuck on what to choose too?" "Frosted Flakes or Lucky Charms?"
These are just some small ideas. Some of you may think these are dumb, and like I said, I can't help you there. YOU HAVE TO PLAY TO YOUR ADVANTAGES!!!111one. You CANNOT pretend to be super smooth if you're really not. Super funny if you are not. Etc.
I know it sounds really cliche, but you really do have to feel yourself out and make a decision based on who you are. Are you a serious kind of person? A funny person? Quiet? Loud? Mysterious? Call up a friend and ask him what his honest opinion of you is. What kind of a person are you?
I strongly advise against trying to be some kind of person you're not. Let me explain, if you try to be a really talkative person when deep down you know you are introverted, what will happen is you will say things that don't actually make sense to people. You'll scramble for something, anything, to say and in the end it will come out really weak. Does this mean you can't BECOME a talkative person? No, absolutely not. You just need to take it in baby steps, as well as play it to your personality.
One thing I can say, try to smile. Try to smile as much as you think you possibly can without making it look weird. Even if you don't feel like smiling, try to anyways. It really does make you look more approachable. Think about it, you're trying to find a certain item in a store, would you approach the guy that has a frown on his face or would you approach the guy that has a warm smile with a light expression? This isn't just for girls, this is for EVERYONE.
I think a lot of people don't want to smile because they think it will make them look weak, like, "Oh what's he so happy about?". People like that are truly negative and they probably aren't happy with themselves to be honest. Ignore people like that, and try to be as friendly to people as you can. Because girls are the exact same way, they want to feel comfortable around people just as much as you or I do, and they will not feel as welcome to engage if the person they're talking to looks like they have a rain cloud over them.
Here's another tip, be FIRM in your approaches. Don't mumble or avert your eyes towards the ground. Walk up with a big smile and look directly at the girl, hands out of pockets, shoulders out, standing straight. It REALLLLLY makes you look good and confident. Some of you may be thinking that's poppycock and none of that matters, or "oh, I've heard that a million times." Well there's a reason it's such a basic step. It is something you should do for people no matter what, it shows you are comfortable with yourself and you have no fear in approaching strangers, even though on the inside you may be freaking out. However, this is fairly common for many people.
Look at people that give speeches, for any of you that have ever given a public speech, you know how terrifying it can be. Some of the world's greatest speakers HATE public speaking, actually, it's the most feared thing in people, even above death (Google it I'm not shitting your leg). But these people "act" confident to appear like they are strong. Would Abraham Lincoln appear as noble and proud as he was when giving a speech if he was slouched over, looking all over, stuttering? No. And you shouldn't either.
Practice smiling, practice standing up straight, practice making good eye contact. FUCK I FORGOT ABOVE-TAKE A GODDAMN SHOWER! Jesus christ some of you guys fucking stink! Brush your goddamn teeth and shampoo your hair! Would you approach a girl that smelled like horse manure and had food stuck in her teeth? Unless you guys are into that sort of thing, then no, I'm fairly certain you would steer right clear of that.
Okay, above all, this was just a pilot sort of thread. I don't know how many of you will find this post helpful but I have many many other things to share with you all, I didn't even breach the surface. I realize this is all pretty basic stuff and I tend to get sidetracked but if you enjoyed, let me know if you'd like to hear more. Hell, even if one or two of you thought this was good and the entire universe hates it, let me know and I can always just PM those that want more advice in my inbox. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Otherwise, all aboard the downvote train! Good luck people!
EDIT: Reddit's spacing FUCKING SUCKS LMAO.
