Lol these peple are overly dramatic. There is nothing wrong with asking people about their nationality. The woman got upset because she prejudged you on your appearance and was just annoyed that you were obviously trying to seduce but were indirect with your approach. I wouldnt give women like that the time of my day. Simply not the type of people im attracted to. Judgemental, angry and full of themselves. Hope. This helps. Move on. You deserve better. Dont let hate beget more hate.

Well it was definitely an overreaction on their part, but the reason it triggered them is because they sensed that you had some sort of hidden agenda (which you did). Don't open asking for directions or asking about something that doesn't easily transition into meeting them, then stick around and try to talk because it can look shady. If you can't think of something, then open more direct, say you were interested in meeting them so they know your motivation. If someone doesn't know why you're talking to them, or they think they knew but your behavior doesn't match up, that's very off putting especially when you've just met.

You came across as very creepy. Don't ask a girl you just met what her nationality is. I made this mistake to a long time ago in High School. There was this girl I liked. I asked her what nationality she was and she said Mexican and Japanese and then I said that's hot. Then she called me a weirdo and had her friend tell me to stop talking to her. Just stay away from the subject and talk about other things. It shouldn't be your second question either. You switched from asking her about coffee shops to asking her about being Thai. This threw up a red flag.

How could you hate someone for getting angry at you trying to hit on them? Why hate.

I'm not from /r/seduction I found this through the search function but felt compelled to point out how little sense this makes
