I'm pretty new to Seddit. I have always had an interest in human behavior and I love to watch people. Everyone has a story and a reason for being why they are the way they are. The thing is, the majority of this story can be told by just watching that person for 5 minutes. However, I digress.

Onto the meat of this post. Here's my story as briefly as I can put it. Last semester, I saw this girl in my college cafe that I thought was pretty damn pretty. Occasionally, I caught her eyes from across the room. I never had the sack to go up and talk to her, so I watched her from afar. Understand this, there is a difference between watching her and stalking her. I was gathering mental notes, examining how she sits in a comfortable environment, whether or not she touches her face or fixes her hair, or if she bounces her legs on her toes.

This semester, we share a Math class. I continue to examine her as discretely as possibly. I made mental notes of her stance when sitting, if she leaned forward or back, if she crossed her legs, how often she wrote down notes, pulled out her phone, where she put her hands, yatta yatta yatta. Today, I advanced the next phase of my plan. I got to class 15 minutes early and saved a seat near where she normally sits. I used my friends (Who were reluctant to help; Good friends, right?) to fill in the rest of the seats near me. I made sure to guard her seat and even told a kid who sat in it to move because I was saving it. Class starts and she walks into the room and sits right next to me. I was very anxious, but played it cool. I sat back in my chair and kicked my feet up and watched her out of the corner of my eye. I noticed she was bouncing her leg, checking her phone, touching her face, moving her hands around often and leaning forward and towards my direction and giving off other signs of anxiety as if she was excited but nervous to be near me (All things that she didn't do earlier). I talked to her a little bit and asked her how she did on her exam (She got a 104...). Class went on and the teacher continued to lecture. 45 minutes into class, she gets up. This next part is incredibly important. After walking out of the room, I hear the door across the hallway open and shut. I knew she walked into the bathroom and I began to count how long she was in there for. She came back into the room 20 seconds later, not long enough to do a #1 or #2, so I concluded that she was simply reviewing herself in the mirror. She clearly wanted to look good or reestablish confidence, but why? Cause I was sitting next to her. Sure as daylight, Class ends and I walk out of the class with her. She talks to me like she hasn't had someone to talk to in years and our conversation carries us all the way downstairs.

TL;DR: Sit back, make mental notes of her behavior before involving yourself, and compare them to what happens when you involve yourself
