I’ve been frequenting a convenience store lately and chatting a some with a cashier. She’s super sweet and seems like she makes a little more conversation than necessary. Today, I was really hoping to finally have worked up the courage to ask her out, but as I approached the check-out I began to get absolutely sick with nerves. Like to the point I thought I might pass out. Everything was perfect, it was Friday, there was no one else around, but I just couldn’t even begin to get close to asking. We chatted as usual and I left. I can’t shake the feeling now that this anxiety is so profound I’ll never be able to overcome it. A perfect scenario presented itself, and I just couldn’t pull the trigger. I’ve read a lot of the info on here about approach anxiety, but I feel like it’s made little difference. Is there anyone who thinks they can help? I’m just sick of this being a recurring theme in my life.
