Advice for a beginner

Are you in college? It’s never too late dude. Better late than never right? Im 22 and just got good at talking to girls within the last year. First off I wouldn’t talk to a girl that long. 5-8 min then go grab a drink, meet other women. Nothing in my experience turns a girl onto you like seeing you flirting with other women. I have girls crazy for me not because I’m some kind of super hot guy or anything but because they see I don’t need them, I can talk to these girls over here. Sounds like you come across as too interested. Never put a girl on a pedestal. Ive failed so many times but I’ve learned from every encounter. I now brush off bad encounters like they were nothing. Another thing is having fun. Own the room. When I say own it I mean be comfortable where you are. Your body language is something girls look closely at which is foreign to us guys.

Eye contact
Strong tone of voice (confident in whatever bullshit your telling them. I literally talk about the most random shit but I say it with such confidence that they are still turned on)
Good posture
Having a good amount of girl-friends helps SO much. Like I said girls love seeing you chat up other women
Push-pull (meaning that you joke around and tease them with stuff. A great example I use is disqualifying them. Make THEM want to impress you. Im talking to a brunette? I might casually throw in the convo at some point that I really have a thing for blondes. Makes the girl feel like she has to sucker up to you.
McGregor mentality: I’ve tried to adopt the persona of confidence that Connor always displays. Watch videos of him, they helped a lot.
Playful touching. Whenever I meet a girl I don’t shake their hand. Fuck that, I hug everyone girl I meet and I’ll look them in the eyes when I introduce myself. Also when talking to them, esp in a loud club setting I’ll get closer, put my arm around them and tell them something. Most of the time it’s about whatever were talking about but I’m still showing confidence by putting my arm around them. Builds up that kino.
Go slow. I’ve rarely had encounters that go from meeting her to sex. Meet them, chat them up, and go somewhere else and meet more people. See her later on in the night and go back to playful flirting. If things don’t escalate no sweat! You still established yourself as a fun guy who is flirtatious so your not automatically put in the friend zone.
Practice practice practice!!! You will embarrass yourself plenty of times but every encounter is a learning experience. Talk to girls you find unattractive too. I’ve gotten laid because I made friends with some ugly girls who then introduced me to their hot friends because they thought I was dope. Talk to everyone. The best days I have begin by me talking to everyone I can. You can’t go from quiet to chatting up a girl just like that. You have to work your way up and that usually means talking to everyone. Gets you much more comfortable and assures you you can talk with anyone.

Just some tips I could think of. If you want more advice let me know! Like I said it’s NEVER too late. Take it from a guy who was shy his entire life.

I have the exact same problem as you man. Literally everything you said, even the 2 girlfriends part, is the same with me. I don't really have a problem talking and holding conversation, it's just meeting new girls in massive amounts of volume. In high school I was used to girls initially showing interest in me because I was a starter on the basketball team - this gave me a little social status. But I expected the same thing to happen to me when I got to university, and boy was I wrong.

I have had mild social anxiety/depression since I was 14 also, and I tried getting over it over the summer by doing exposure therapy one step at a time. I was successful at first, but ultimately my thinking was the same and was filtering out the positives and magnifying the negatives.

Then I read The Game in October and got inspired and then decided to go downtown and approach a lot of girls with no plan. The anxiety was too real and I fell into a dark week long depression. I then started doing CBT to fix my thinking habits and reading self help books - once per week. This helped me think more rationally and I think if I were to start again, I would have an easier time doing so.
