Japanese girls are super horny but really reserved at first. It's just part of the culture. I actually got picked up by a cougar in a bar in Tokyo. So yeah just break through the initial barrier and you're golden. Being around alcohol helps a lot too.

Advice on picking up in Japan?

Just like anywhere else, you have to be aware of how the culture defines what's acceptable. There are things that can happen in Japan, that wouldn't happen the way they happen anywhere else. Just as some things that happen in the US wouldn't happen anywhere else.

I'll elaborate.

I am going to be living in Japan soon and would like some advice on how to pick up Japanese women. Is the process the same?

Obviously not.

I have experience picking up women in Canada and the states with success.

The basic process is roughly the same. You meet someone, feel things out, pay attention to their feedback so you can calibrate what you're doing according to what they like, and if things are lining up, they'll collaborate with you to isolate the two of you so stuff can go down.

I can also speak Japanese. I just don’t really know what to say to a girl in Japanese aside from “you’re cute”...

If you're conversational at all, it'll be better than nothing. But assuming you're a Westerner and obviously so (not like Asian Canadian or something) a lot of the girls who will be up for it with you, are going to be fluent in English.

And telling a girl she's cute isn't really "game" anyway so you shouldn't bother with it.

Having good game is being able to adapt and not getting bogged down in pointless details.

You want to get laid, right? Sex is the thing, right? Well, often the best way is to figure out ways to set it up so that they're coming to you. The important thing is not that you need to initiate the approach every time. It's that you need to be ADAPTABLE and attentive to the women you're interacting with. You'll be a guest in another country and it's almost guaranteed that there will be cultural misunderstandings. Assume NOTHING and be prepared to roll with the punches.

Some girls who seem interested, will flake in strange ways in Asia. Over time, you'll figure out what the flakes look like. Some girls who don't seem interested, will surprise you by jumping you. Over time, you'll figure out what it looks like when they're interested.

There are a few ways you can really grease the wheels to more easily meet locals there.

Going through dating apps often works, especially if you're an obvious Westerner.
Joining social groups is going to be great for you because girls who want foreigners will self-select into groups they know they'll meet foreigners through.
- Social partner dancing scenes: Salsa, Lindy Hop, Argentine Tango, West Coast Swing, etc.
- Couchsurfing meets: travelers plus people who like to hang with travelers.
- Hash house harriers: People going hiking plus playing hide and seek, with optional beer and optional running.
