Before we get into what would be good to do now, what would be good to do during the date to feed into your texting is finding out as many things as you can about her.

Use your conversation to really get to know her and learn what she likes to talk about.

Yeah, you can joke and tell her things about yourself but if that's all you're doing you'll come off try hard and you won't give her the opportunity to contribute to the interaction.

Anyway, the main things to learn about that really helps your texting is what you guys have in common.

Why is that so helpful?

Because when you're not together and you're just doing your own thing, chances are both of you are thinking about or doing something related to the stuff you have in common and that makes it so easy to make conversation.

For example, when we first started dating I learned that one of the things me and my now GF have in common is that we like Marvel movies so one of the things we both normally do as we go through our days is look at news about upcoming movies or just any content online about Marvel superheroes.

That meant that I didn't have to deviate at all from what I normally do in a day to make conversation with her because almost inevitably I'd come across something that makes me wanna text her about it because I know its something she wants to talk about as well.

Its also great because when she knows that stuff about you, she's more likely to message you first to talk about it.

And when it comes to something that always has content posted about it online, its hard to run out of things to say about that topic because the people putting up content about them give you new talking points everyday.

If you haven't found out about a lot of your commonalities then work with what you have learned right now but use just to start the conversation.

Once you have one going, transition into finding as many commonalities between you two as you can. That knowledge will serve you throughout the time that you're seeing each other.

And the more time you spend with each other, the more new commonalities you will develop because she might get you into something new or you might get her into something new or both of you just decide to try something you've never tried and then you end up both liking it.

Stop texting so frequently.

When you text, try to have a purpose for texting, like setting up a date. Or, maybe there’s some random funny thing that reminded you of her.

If you’re struggling to come up with things to text her, simply stop texting her. Let the conversation end. She may be receptive to your texts right now, but too much texting can easily get boring. Sometimes, less is more, even though that’s difficult when you really like someone. Same thing with phone calls. If you’re already meeting up, just save the conversation for when you’re together.

Limit it. Everything is more effective in person. I try not to be too chatty between dates in the beginning unless they are initiating a lot of the chatting.
