The last 2 weeks I have made a serious effort to be more social and find a girl. I have gone to 2 salsa classes and have been clubbing 2 times. I have seriously impressed myself and pushed myself out of my comfort zone. While I had great success at being more social and having fun, I've had 0 results with women. Here are some examples:

1.. I asked a girl to dance with me in a bar, she actually said yes! But as soon as I turned to face her she looked away from me and towards the stage (live music). During the whole song she avoided looking at me and at the end said thanks for the dance, I said thanks as well and went back to my friend.

2.. The 2 clubbing experiences where very similar, I was loving the music having a good time and dancing, but every time I approached a woman they would either distance themselves or try and look away from me. At one point I had a lot of eye contact with one and when I smiled she gave me what I though was a cute laugh. As soon as I got near her however she once again was distant and avoidant.

3.. I managed to ask a girl about a book she was reading on the bus, and while she answered me, she seemed to keep answers short indicating she wanted to get back to her book. (keep in mind I waited for her to stop reading to speak to her, in order to not interrupt her)

4.. At the most recent salsa class I was having a great time, feeling like I was getting a better grip with it, 2 of my partners I felt had really good chemistry with me, with how we shared laughter and I thought tension. However when the class finished and we had some free dancing, the girl I was about to approach for a dance, danced with someone else near her (could be her boyfriend).

All in all I had a good time, but I do feel my confidence has dropped a bit with the rejections, not that many to be fair, more like 18 if you where to include everyone I approached in the club as well. Am I going about this the right way or not? In case this matters, I workout (not huge but I look like I workout), I dress well (imo), friends have said I look good (obv not objective but I believe them), I think I look good and I'm overall confident in myself.
