Long story short, I got hired six months for assets protection position because of my prior experience with security/military. I got myself adjusted in about two months before getting to know my coworkers and team. I noticed this girl in a different department and I thought she was cute. I introduced myself and we started chit chatting a bit. I find out that her position is alot more important than mine so I kept my cool about her. As time went on, I would find her trying to be in my presence, preening, checking me out, approaching me to get me to help her with something she can do with herself, ask for favors, acknowledges me whenever I came in, and we made alot of eye contact with each other. Almost too much. I could feel the tension between us two whenever we got close. And everyone could feel it too. In fact, if she's with her friends and I come by, everyone is quiet until I break the ice.

All nice right?

There's one downfall about me. I'm a shy guy but I'll bring out the beast if I have to.

So I'm keeping track of how she's gauging me and this sold the deal:

Last month, I tipped over some merchandise and it broke. I apologized for tipping it over and offered to clean it up. But she went over to clean it up before I can get there. So now we're both cleaning it up together and talking away. She's crouching down to clean up the mess and Im standing up to clean up broken glass and whatnot until I visually see her looking at my crotch. Whaaaaatt. (I had my nice jeans on that day) I froze and quite honestly didn't know what to do because it was a tight area we were in. I was so flustered that a coworker came in and broke the tension. And she left early for work that day.

Following days after, I decided to ask her out. So I called her into my office to apologize for my crotch being in front of her face and wanted to clear things up with my intentions. I asked if she wanted to hang out sometime and wanted to know what her schedule is like. I also pointed out that I wanted to let her know that we're in different positions and if she's okay with that.
She said she was busy with work and family. So I said not a problem, offer still stands, and in fact, you can shoot me your number so we can figure it out together would be great.

She accepts and I leave with a half a chub of fuck yeah.

One week later, I texted her a time and place and she responded it wouldn't work out because we work together. So I texted her thank you for the answer and just moved on really. There was nothing I can do that point. I even stopped texting her too and gave her space.

HOWEVER, things got iffy after that.

I act like nothings happened and just pursue work like usual. But I do catch her checking me out, approaching me to make small talk, being around my presence, and it's definitely making me feel confused and frustrated. Wait, didn't you just rejected me like twice basically? Wtf???

(Duly noted woman. I'll keep my tabs open to see what's really going on is what I'm thinking. I mean, I still like her.)

This month, she's been testing me a bit by making me jealous with guys she's talking to and it's starting to piss me off. I've been doing my best trying to avoid her at work because my feelings are butthurt and I'm in the process of moving on. And here she comes doing the same thing and this time she pointed out pretty girls at work are flirting with me. I bit my tongue from not saying anything out of instinct and simply replied, "Yes, I know". (But they're not you! is what I really wanted to say). After that, I think she got the message and gives me the ignore my existence until I say something to her. And now we're in this situation where it's hard to talk to each other. There are times when she and I are walking past and I just give her the "whatup" look or say hi and go about my day.

Did I do right by moving on and she's now realizing she's missing out? Did I do wrong by pushing the girl I liked initially? Like what's going on with women these days dude lol 🤣
