I wouldn't respond in kind, Canadian insult style. You're submitting to his frame, and you're going to probably come across as defensive.

Instead, if you want to go with a nickname, call him "Boss." He won't reject the label because it looks like you're putting him above you socially. But what of course is happening is you're co-oping his frame. You're not accepting his frame, but rather rejecting it and making a counter offer.

Alternatively, solutions to most AMOG tactics (and shit tests) is just to break the frame rather than trying to control it.

AMOG: "Hey Buddy."

You: "It's just Bud, actually. Good memory though."

His frame was "You're my little bitch, aren'tcha?" And you respond with the frame, "That's my name, didn't we meet before?" While your response makes sense of the surface, the concept is a complete non-sequitur. I wouldn't stick with this frame though, because it's not particularly strong. Just use it to disorient the other guy, and jump back into your original conversation.

Do whatever, as long as you don't give a shit about the guy. If you let him affect you, no matter what you say or do, you've pretty much already lost.

Personally, I'd do that South Park shit just cause I think it's hilarious. But I wouldn't be angry (because I wouldn't let the AMOG affect me in the first place) as I say it, I'd say it as a joke.

It's the same thing as dealing with a shit test. If you let it get to you, then you lose. If you don't let it get to you, you can pretty much say whatever the hell you want.

The reason is that champ is so fucking condescending, but also so friendly. It's like the trump of all impersonal pronouns.

Haha, that is what I do when I have an AMOG in a set. I befriend and belittle them using exactly the same words you've used. That usually shuts them up pretty good.

Just wanted to give you a hint to use what OP mentioned the next time there's an AMOG in your set.

I never even thought of this as an AMOG trait, just something I've always done. I honestly wouldn't view this as a conscious tactic. The people I know that do this, including myself, do it because as social people its impossible to remember everyone, but you absolutely want to remember the cool ones. So we will remember those names and who they are, while everyone else gets a nickname until they show they are worth committing to memory. You should also pay attention to how they address others. In my group we have a small subset of these generic nicknames that we use when addressing our friends. Why? because we can. So if you hear them call you something they call most of their friends, you can probably consider yourself as being accepted as cool and part of their group.

The key to handling AMOGs is like anything else. Why would you care if they call you a nickname? That's who they are, and they could care less if you dislike it or not. If you want my opinion on handling anything from an AMOG, don't react to anything. Have fun, display value, and be confident. These 3 things together are disarming, regardless of who you are dealing with.

Best to respond is

Way Nr 1. Punch in the Face and laugh Way Nr 2. Start laughing and say "your funny" Way Nr 3. Dont even talk with such low - value people and tell him to fuck off ;) Way Nr 4. Achieve a steady, rock solid Belief System so that people wont fuck around with you just by your presence.

If you see "Friend" or "Buddy" as an AMOG, you should take a critical look at your self-esteem
