It’s hard to tell why people react a certain way without observing it happen. Saying good morning and asking for a towel is not creepy in and of itself.

As for the sidewalk thing, it could just be because you’re a man. So many women have had negative or scary experiences with street harassment that they are very wary of men following them. (Even if you’re not intentionally following them, just happen to be walking in the same direction, it could feel like following). I know that sucks, but it sucks for women too.

Do you have a friend who is perceptive who you could ask for advice? Someone who knows you and your mannerisms might be able to hone in on things (tone of voice, posture, etc.) that might come across as intimidating.

But tbh, from this post you don’t sound creepy to me. Wish you the best!

Energy and vibes have a lot to do with where your at mentally in the moment and if you are thinking about being perceived as creepy then in that moment you are closer to sending a vibe of creepy for the simple fact that it’s even crossing your mind and influencing your body language in subtle ways like a blank stare or nervous uneasy energy. Solution is to drop thinking about being creepy and start thinking and visualizing yourself being a refreshing break and joy in peoples boring days !

Honestly, don’t take it to heart. As a woman in this society we’re taught to protect ourselves from men. Don’t take it personally! If you’re walking behind a girl and she seems scared or keeps looking behind her shoulder; cross the street (if you aren’t in a hurry), It’ll put her at ease. If this is happening in other situations, then try working on the ‘vibe’ you give off. Hope I could help!

dont tense up or come up strong have a laidback yet confident and loud voice. It is important to make them feel comfortable right off the bat instead of triggering their red flag detector

Do you stare at them and maybe not break eye contact? Most “creepy person” stories I hear always start with someone saying “the person just started staring at me. It made me uncomfortable. They didn’t break eye contact. I knew something was wrong”.
