Any strategy for demisexuals?

Take more opportunities earlier, regardless of how you feel. Im not saying you need to do it drastically earlier, and im also not saying that you need to take opportunities with people you think you have no potential of being attracted to, just that you know your current timeline is too slow so you can't wait to have the whole picture before diving in. Most hookups and relationships dont last in the long run anyways, and half of marriages don't either. Hookups are probably not your area of comfort no matter how you slice it, and good relationships are built on communication and respect. Take the risk, start relationships with people you think have potential even if you dont know how you feel yet, and end the relationships if they dont go where you were hoping. Make sure to communicate with them as you go and do the right thing by them the best you can given the situation.

There's nothing wrong with being a slow mover. I also take my time in the early stages. You just need to communicate well and demonstrate that you're enjoying the dates. If your lifestyle is in check and you don't fall into nice guy tropes, you should be fine. I don't kiss much of the time on first dates and am not in a rush for sex. Even if she's really hot I'll pass on the opportunity for sex if we're not vibing and I just don't sense any degree of a potential future. Go at your own pace.

Too many guys on this sub have the insecure mindset of "if I don't make moves quickly, she has a million dudes lined up and I'm toast." Perhaps, but that's poor inner game. Believe in yourself and dictate your own terms. I'd rather spend more time vetting and getting to know than jumping into something just out of fear that she'll move on.

I'm demi as well and something I learned is that during the dating process you can connect with them romantically and build a friendship at the same time. They're not mutually exclusive like many people believe. After all, many of the skills needed to make friends overlap with those for dating. This just means that you will need to take it slower in the beginning and make it clear to her about the process. You'd be surprised by how many women prefer the slower process.

I always end up with demisexuals since I’m looking for something serious and even consider myself somewhere on that demisexual spectrum— however I’m still a guy, and I have needs too.. demisexuals have left me feeling like they like my company, personality, but don’t desire me because they put up ultimatums as walls or milestones as boundaries and that’s been the biggest turn off for me. Sadly I’ve ended a few budding relationships with demisexuals at the precipice of them starting to open up more and by the time I’ve withdrew my attention from them and mentally moved on, they’d in turn come at me full force and ready, and that would hurt my ego even more because I’d wonder if I didn’t stop giving them my all before would they have still opened up. My best advice is to communicate from the start, tell the person you’re feeling more for them as you start and then give clues that you’re starting to be ready for them more and more. If you stay in this friend zone for too long it just creates a friendship and as a guy that has their shit together all neatly packed with no baggage at all a demisexual presents itself as an insecure person trying to reclaim their lost confidence from past relationships.
