I think I had different stages of this. When I was in school I was stupid and always realized I was being flirted with after the fact. Then I got to the point where I would recognize it during the conversation but still not do anything because I was being a bitch. Now I know when a girl is flirting and I adjust accordingly. I look at that past stupidity as learning experience. I might kick my own ass if don’t for how dumb I was.

Sometimes your instincts of "who to avoid" are very reliable. Especially if you're in your body and connecting to intuition. Your radar might have picked up a signal, "this chick is crazy, married, alcoholic, got herpes" or whatever.

For fucks sake this happened to me and I still am beating myself up about it. It was right before corona started getting crazy and so I was on campus and had just finished up an exam and was waiting on a bench outside the classroom for some friends to finish. This girl sat next to me and was the first one to initiate conversation and so we talked a little bit and then once my friends came out I talked to them about the exam and cracked some jokes and the girl next to me would laugh at anything funny I said in the conversation to my friends (she wasn’t a part of the conversation) and then I got up and left and it wasn’t until I was in the car on my way home that I realized how oblivious I was. I figured I’d just see her the following week and ask her out but then they shut the campus down for the rest of the semester due to the quarantine

Yes.

I was never good with women right off the bat. In fact I was quite awkward.

The good news is, you can change that if you're just willing to learn and get out there and get experience.
