I know it's more difficult, but you might want to try opening the sets instead. I've found lots of Asian American girls pretty chill and willing to be opened if your state is solid enough and you have an interesting enough personality. Go in w/ a fun mentality and they should all want to hang out w/ you!

Instead of accosting the poor girl when she leaves or 'drifts away', and then having her friends drag her away when they see the whole thing unfolding, why not have her friends help you?

For example:

Lets say you saw her leave her friends, and you went in to her group, ran an opener, demonstrated some value, came across as non-needy and without an agenda. You're just a fun guy having a good vibe with people.

Now she returns.

You know them well enough they can now Introduce her to you. You already have peer-approval at this point of the game, and your social value is much higher at that point, and both will make the number you get more solid.
