I'm sure there are hundreds of posts like this. So I really want to work on my cold approaching. I'm 21 and go to a fairly popular university in the US. I have never cold approached in my life. I used to be really social but I went to a small high school with a grad class of 30. Being in that circle just stunted my social skills especially with having conflict with others.

Tbh i never took many shots at girls to begin with until i came to college and especially my sophomore year now. I have a kind of basic idea of what I want to do and I was going to do it today and i saw some people but I really chickened out for certain reasons. But I felt so close to doing it. I just can't get myself to do it for some reason.

My semi structured plan was to just be walking, say "Hey/Excuse me, I was walking to/from class and I saw you and I thought i had to say hi. My name is _______" and then say what's yours. Then I have a rough idea of where i want to take it but im trying not too hard to adhere to a script so that I can grow a real skill. We talk for a bit and i say like "I have to get going but i'd like to keep talking, can i get your number?" That's the end. If i get rejected at any point I wanted to say "No worries, take it as a compliment".

Other things is obviously i dress what i like and nicely, and then also just stand confidently. Idk I feel like the way I have it setup isn't even that bad but I just kinda get lots of nerves ig. Any advice is welcome. Also feel like if there were some sorts of groups for these things or a way i could find friends it would be so much easier.
