This is another one of those motivational "get off your asses!" threads!

I first seriously got into the PUA community in my freshmen year of college. I already knew of David DeAngelo back in middle school, but I never took it seriously. I adopted things like "cocky and funny" because I understood it's just another way to say "teasing", but I didn't really take it seriously. Girls were so out of my life, that I'd have dreams of where I'm just about to fuck a girl, but then I suddenly lose interest and play Counter-Strike instead.

Anyway, I went out of my way to learn all of the people in my year at this freshman mixer. There was this tall, slender lady that quickly caught my eye. Said hi, and there was obvious attraction there. I'm a PC gamer, so I teased her about being an Apple fan. Turns out we were both into folk/Viking metal, a rarity on the East Coast. Built rapport quickly, blah blah blah.

Being the chode, I never really escalated past very flirty conversation. I was simply uncomfortable with kino. I had never even kissed a girl at this point. I never got further then hugging with a girl. We teased and insulted and joked around with each other for a couple of weeks that semester. I'd tell her, "Bitch get on your knees and blow me!" (she was a feminist). And she'd respond with, "only if I can find it!" (I'm Asian). And other playful banter like that.

Anyway, this is also during the time I'm learning how to be more in the moment. I was practicing saying the first thing that came to my mouth without thought. A few days before the semesters end, I struck up a conversation with her in class. I teased her a bit about her presentation she did on feminism, but in the end I gave her a hand shake and told her that I was honestly impressed by it. Trying to act by instinct, I then said, "I jerk off with this hand by the way." While holding the handshake and with a completely straight face. Deadpan humor only works if they know you're joking, by the way!

I get an email a few days later saying she filed a sexual harassment complaint against me. Apparently, she logged all of the shit I said to her that was remotely offensive to women. Including that whole, "get on your knees and blow me!" bit. The person who handled the complaints was also a feminist. She told me that she's been doing this for 10 years, so she knows what's offensive and what isn't. It was goddamn interrogation. She basically tried to get me to implicate myself by asking me what other stuff I said to women, and to how many women I said it to. I told her that I said things like that to almost every girl I knew. Whatever, I had to go through this hour-long online sexual harassment course, but I didn't get into any real trouble.

After that meeting, did I feel awkward approaching other people? No! The fact that I had a sexual harassment complaint is a (arguably) good thing; I was ballsy enough to put myself out there. Granted my calibration was shit back then, but I learned A LOT from that experience. I regret nothing, and neither should anyone else!
