Over and over again, I keep hearing people say that it's attractive to be really passionate about something. But is this really true?
I just have a hard time believing/accepting this. If I'm on a date and I blab on and on about my interests or the details about my work (that the girl doesn't share) -- is this really attractive behaviour?
There are a bunch of negative cliches about a person who's REALLY into something: the anime nerd, the neckbeard comic book guy, the crazy cat/horse lady. These are all people who are really passionate about something and by and large "considered to be unattractive".
I consider myself a pretty open-minded, but even when the topic isn't stereotypically "uncool" (e.g. horses, anime, etc.), listening to someone go on about a topic that I didn't already have much interest in (e.g. craft beer, baseball, WWE, etc.) wouldn't make me any more attracted to them, even if they were passionate about it.
I've always wondered this. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
