She will probably mention a hobby, tv show, or pet, and then you can ask follow-up questions. If she's really into talking with you, ask her if she'd like to grab coffee after class. Keep it casual, and then even if she's not interested, you won't scare away a good study friend.

You're reading way too much into this, my friend. Had a few of my girlfriends calling me "dude", and I just called them "dude" back when it happened. Gotta make sure the girl's pretty laid back, tho, but if they went and called you "dude", chances are that she is.

But all in all, it's just something she says. It means nothing when it comes to attraction / seduction per se.
