Mate, even coffee can work here for first dates. Unless you decide to go to a hipster place, it shouldn't take you more than 20.

If you have a bike and she has a bike and you live in a big city that does Critical Mass you can do that. The ride/riders usually carry a couple road beers and usually end up at a bar where the bar usually has drink specials.

Take them rock climbing. Or for a walk around the park or find a free art exhibition. Etc

Are you just in between jobs or have some big unexpected bills? Either way, you’ll have to come clean eventually. Might be able to stretch it out by doing a ‘sub $20 date challenge’ and making a game of it with them.
