This questions has probably been asked before but I can't find other posts about this specific detail of cold approaching.

Look, I know already how it looks when a guy is alone at a bar trying to chat with people and I even have a strategy to deal with that. I also already know when I get chatting with people it looks like I am there with people.

But even being that I have had a good experience a couple time out alone (I normally am) I cant help but think its entirely futile. Last time I went out it was to a crowded bar downtown that I went once with a group of wingmen (where we then split up and may as well have all been alone anyway.) This time I really was alone, everyone was closed off in different groups, and I couldn't bring myself to try anything. I mean, I can't help but feel its weird no matter what to approach a group of people, especially when all their backs are turned to you like a bubble formed to keep people out.

So, should I not bother with going out solo? Because this is all I see when I do.
