Awareness

Don't be oblivious to what's going on around you. Keep your attraction radar on. Notice when someone is checking you out. Notice when a girl spends more time near or around you than necessary. Notice when she talks about you more than necessary. Notice when she seems a bit more feminine and girly and happy when you talk to her than when your not. Notice when she stays talking to you even if your ranting about boring shit. Just be alert for it all. It all sounds obvious. However by doing this you ahead of at least 80% of the guys at your school.

Get out there

Spend as little time alone as possible. Get involved and do things. Opt to try a new club if you've got a bunch of free time rather than just browse the web for hours. Unless you really need isolation to study effectively, do it in a library instead of in your dorm.

Attention Whoring

Carry yourself in a way that commands some positive attention. Stand tall, avoid being tense. There are a few phrases which can sum up carrying yourself: As comfortable as you'd be in your own home... Like you own the place... like your a man on a mission... Like your a fucking rock star. When you do this you'll usually stand out in a room, and that's a good thing.

Opening

Direct Vs. Indirect shouldn't be so much influenced personal preference like some men think it is, but rather a case by case decision based on what's more socially appropriate. One example of a time to go direct would be she's just walking about. One example of a time to go indirect would be she's by you in a line to get something to eat. Don't overthink opening though, especially the verbal content. How you are when you say it (relaxed and confident), matters so much more than the actual words. All you have to do is get the chatting started. Don't have a goal to say the perfect thing, have a goal to say something with the perfect demeanor.

First, girls are people too. Just be a friend whenever you meet someone new. Some may not want to be your friend - so what, find other friends.

Here's an eyes trick.

Stare into a mirror at your own eyes. Force your eyes to focus so that you are looking through (behind) your reflection (if that makes sense).

If you catch a girl staring back into your eyes, do not avert your eyes, do not blink, don't even think... retain a lock on her eyes and look "through" her eyes and back. Try to "smile with your eyes" also, which you can also practice... not sure how to explain this part, but yeah.

It's one of those subtle body language cues that can flip a girl's switch, if she actually is interested.

add alcohol to increase affect - to an extent, if you're blackout drunk, then just go to sleep.
