This is the first ever (and successful) cold approach day game I've done on a college campus. I'm 21M and a senior in college.

So for the past three days, I've been on Stanford's campus walking around and getting the vibe of where students like myself hang out. I found a cafe/dining area where people hang out most of the time and brought a backpack, laptop and some other stuff to do some work.

Today I wasn't really looking to cold approach, but to actually do work. I was originally sitting in the sun outside, but moved to a table that was near a cute girl (21F) in the shade. While I putting my stuff down on the table, she and I looked at each other and made eye contact. She averted eye contact. I re looked at her once I sat down and she looked at me and said "hi". I also said hi back and continued to take my stuff out.

Next, I made up an excuse to get up from the table and converse with her. This is how it went:

Me: "Hey, do you mind watching my stuff really quick?"

Her: "Sure! Yeah no worries!"

I walked away for a couple minutes and came back. I went up to her and said:

Me: “Hey, thanks! Appreciate it.”

Her: “Sure!”

Me: “I feel like I’ve seen you on campus before? My name is ___”

Her: “I feel like I've seen you too... hey _____ my name is _____! Are you a student at this campus?”

Me: “No, I’m actually visiting a friend on campus and wanted to get some work done.”

Her: “Who is your friend?”

Me: ______, do you know him?

Her: Hmm, no I don’t!

Me: Ah okay, well do you mind if I sit with you?

Her: Sure!

We then talked about that I go to school elsewhere and how she’s planning on staying on campus for another year for post grad. She asked a lot of questions about me and so did I. Very fluid and fun conversation.

Her friend then came over and I talked with both of them at the same table for about 30 min! All of us didn’t get much work done.

They had to leave to go to a meeting, but then I closed with the number:

Me: “Hey, it was nice seeing you, can I get your number if I ever come back to campus again?”

Her: “Uhh, sure” we exchanged phones.

We said our goodbyes and whatnot. She definitely remembered our conversation and stuff so that was a plus!

I texted her an hour later and said “hey it was nice meeting you and your friend! Are you free tomorrow to grab coffee on campus?”. Still waiting for a reply on that.

Any suggestions or tweaks? I think I did really well for my first time.

Update: I have a date with her at 2pm!
