Well the thing with compliments are that many guys do it as flattery. You're young so might not have a working understanding of what actually constitutes flattery... but it's basically buttering someone up so they're more likely to do something you want. Generally it's a clumsy attempt at manipulation.

Now with women one of the reasons that you shouldn't say something like "blah blah you have gorgeous eyes" is that she doesn't have any control over her eyes. Her clothing, hair, etc looks the way it does because she consciously chose to put it on.

See the difference there?

I actually don't generally compliment women out of the blue. If I do, it's sincere and also has nothing to do with her physical appearance.

By the end of the day you cannot really compliment anyone into liking you. Yeah it's better to compliment something she had a direct control over, but it doesn't affect her attraction towards you that much. She had a pretty good idea if she likes you or not before you even opened your mouth to compliment.

IMO If u like her looks -> complement her looks. If u like her outfit -> complement her outfit.

To me it much easier to complement if im honestly like something about her

Assume every woman gets blasted with ‘you’re beautiful’, compliment her style instead when appropriate. You can go macro to micro with this, I.E., I think your outfit is amazing to that blouse accentuates your breasts perfectly. Vary degrees friend, varying degrees.

Idk I tend not to compliment as an opener I'll run with something corny like

"What's that you dropped?" When she looks down behind her and looks back "Your standards, hi I'm liam" and go for a handshake

Thing is if they're interested or not it's always good to show you have a sense of humour as you can laugh it off easier if she slaps you with the bf line, sometimes if she's laughing along just I'll go

"Damn a boyfriend? How are we gonna get you out of that one?"

I find compliments are awkward and I prefer something light hearted and funny

Don't compliment women too much especially if she's good looking. She hears that from guys all the time and it puts you in a lower position than her.

thinking or talking about looks is immoral and makes women uncomfortable. If you tell a woman that she's physically attractive, you're basically saying I deem you worthy enough to have sex with. So you're jumping right into sex. referencing the outfit, on the other hand, still masks your true intentions of you being physically attracted to her but verbally all she KNOWS is that you like her outfit (physical attractiveness aside) it's all about linguistic coding. make sure you say the right things at the right time (verbal language) and make sure you do the right things at the right time (body language)

On IG it's not a great tactic cuz every girl is flooded w/ dms of the sort. I only DM girls who liked my photos or who I've met be irl.

It'd be better to follow her first and see if she follows you back. Like a few pics, and wait till she posts a story, then reply something to the story. replying something to a story is a way better move cuz it naturally starts a conversation. Simply saying "you're cute, can I get your number" right off the bat is gonna get discarded, along w/ the 1000s of other likewise messages. Think about it, why would a cute girl, who gets hit on in the DMs constantly, give you, a complete stranger, her number over Instagram?

Instagram is not a dating app and it’s creepy to try to use it that way. Use a dating app or talk to girls in person.
