I've been on a couple of first dates and one thing I hate is to have the date go smoothly and then afterwards text her and risk killing any attraction or comfort that has been built up, resulting in not going on a second date with her. I wanna call this method that I'm trying: Consider it dead method. Basically what I do here is after the date I just consider that I'll never be seeing this girl again and that was the one and only date we will go on. I do this by deleting our recent text conversation and completely forgetting about her as if she never existed. There are two reasons I'm doing this. For one, I hate that feeling of texting a girl and then not having her reply because this ultimately puts you in a worse position than you originally were. You have to risk texting again and being ignored or not texting at all which could've been accomplished by not texting in the first place. It simply isn't worth the gamble (to me anyway) to try and craft a witty post date text that has some chance of generating a spark in her or to immediately want to schedule for a second date. Both of these things could backfire and it's not worth the risk especially when you've invested in the first date (This statement is my opinion). The second reason I do this is because I'm tired of always pursing and chasing. I managed to get her out on a first date when I barely even knew her, I think at this point it's more effective to put on the brakes and allow her to decide to reach out to you because she now has some sort of idea what kind of person you are. If she doesn't reach out you wouldn't even know or remember because you've already forgotten about her and moved on, that's the beauty of it. The key thing to take away from this method is that you'll feel a lot better mentally about the situation because you're not hung up on the girl. You've considered it dead immediately after the first date ended and you're free to engage in other activities without worrying about texts you've sent being returned/acknowledged.
