Went to my first dance party and had a pretty decent time. my social skills are trash (and i think a bartender may think im autistic now), but there were familiar faces, work friends, etc. to get some social momentum behind me. Ended up making party friends with group of people for the night (my major win!) and chatted up the door man because he had great energy. others were very stilted and awkward (mind blanked, boring topics, etc.)

My biggest takeaway was the shift in environment, how loud and dark it was. I could barely make out faces, and words were nonexistant, so approaching women became impossible because i dont know the "rules"

i think i had someone interested in me, but i wasnt sure how to confirm or deny and really didnt want to risk alienating myself from a potential new place to enjoy.

i need some basics to approaching women in clubs when you cant hear shit? when is it cool to ask for a dance? where can i touch her? What kind of IOIs should i be looking for? Should I, as a loner, try to approach large groups or smaller couples/trips?

Making a fool of myself is part of the game, im more concerned over poisoning a well.
