Background: I (30M) have limited experience with dating. I meet girls online. I went from 1 date in 9 months, to 4 in 6 weeks. Here’s my report:
Date 1: Met for a drink. Conversation flowed well, lots of laughs, smiles. She seemed to make a strong effort to continue the conversation. In this one, I messed up by not making it man to woman and engaging in the “conversation to nowhere”. I think it was a combo of nerves/inexperience.
Date 2: Unpleasant and disengaged from the start. Avoidant body language and lack of excitement in tone. The only laugh I got was from pointing out that she had RBF (I didn’t use those words, but she acknowledged that people don’t see her as friendly).
Date 3; Didn’t have high hopes as she flaked but then rescheduled. She seemed rushed and of the mindset that a first date should be brief. Neither of us were interested.
Date 4: Went rockclimbing. She greeted me with a hug and I made a point to initiate kino. I felt like I did a good job of making it man to woman, and using push-pull. She rejected me when I followed up, but I had fun.
Two questions:
1) Any thoughts on how I can improve? In traditional drink settings I find it hard to get out of interview mode.
2) How do you keep your head up after rejection?
Thanks,
Durden
