I think you should play long game, cuz she must have guys hit on her all day long and you don’t wanna just be another of them. Try to chat and see if there’s chemistry. Make her laugh and then head out. Super non-commital and cool. Get her thinking about you and then strike.

I think the opposite will be the case. More guys will play the long game in some way. Only the minority will have the guts to ask her out directly. One would stand out more by asking her out bluntly.

Play the long game. I know no one wants to be put in the friend zone but in this situation, you actually want to form that friendly vibe first. The gym is where majority of men hangout and she must have ton hitting on her all day. You don’t want her to just throw you in that bucket.
I have been in this same situation and I might have been lucky but it was what worked for me. I just treated it as how I would if I wanted to make a friend. Eventually, she was comfortable enough to wave at me while I was working out or simply call me as a way to get rid of some other guy lol. Slowly went to her actually coming to say something about my workouts to her suggesting we workout together when she was off. It went on from there. Nothing ever happened from it cuz eventually I realized I wanted to keep her as a friend but you could always play your cards differently when you get to that stage.

If she’s out of your league stop fantasizing about her. She’s doing her job. Go for someone in your league or up your league.

I am definitely not taking your advice because your bio says your a tomboy girl and you wrote one post saying black guys are better at flirting and in another you're saying how you picked up a girl at the gym and the link us to your insta and you're a dude

When you think she is out of your league, it means you don't have the confidence to handle her. With that mindset the chance has already been wasted.
