While commuting I met a girl and she was the one who initiated the conversation. We talked for about 60 minutes and both put an equal amount of energy in the conversation.

We were nearing her end station (I had to stay in the train for a bit longer) and thus I decided to set a side my fear of getting rejected in the presence of others. Asked for her name and told her if she wanted to exchange numbers.

My question was followed by a pause and a "Hmm, I don't find that necessary" from her side. Weird response but it didn't get awkward. We continued our conversation till the moment she had to get out.

I'm proud of myself because this is 1) my first time asking for a girls number face-to-face and 2) I did this in the precense of others.

And I'm wondering what you guys think about her response. Could she be interested or not and why do you think that. Just curious.
