If you want her to be your official girlfriend then you might as well do it. Don't make it huge and weird. Just take her out on a date like normal and say hey this is great. I enjoy dating you. Would you like to make this official and be my girlfriend?

Relationships are full of weird things and tasks and activities you aren't going to be into but you should do because you like them and they like to do those things. If it didn't hurt you and it'll make things better, then why not?
