Well first you need to be aware of what makes things weird.
Directly behaving sexual or flirting with a girl without establishing some kind of rapport for like 5-10 mins first.
Being awkward, nervous and stiff during your approach.
Acting like you are playing a numbers game, by approaching too many girl and asking straight away for their phone number without establishing a solid connection first.
Touching the girl awkwardly
Not telling her why you are talking to her, before you ask personal questions or making her feel trapped when things get uncomfortable.
Making the conversation feel like an interrogation, question after question after question…
Not showing a decent sense of humour to break the intuitive tension with genuine laughter
Approaching in a spot where she feels uncomfortable, too alone and scared because she can’t easily escape… like some hidden alley where there is no people to save her just in case.
Objectifying her for her body which makes her feel like you are a predator about to rape her.
Closed body language like having your hands in your pocket or being inexpressive.
Being overly serious.

Sounds like a lot of stuff to keep track of.
But yeah my main concern is just approaching too many girls in one campus or doing to regularly to the point where girls start to notice me.

If you want to notice without having to approach , you can try first to just expose the girls to your presence, you are already in close proximity to them which is good, next thing is " repeated exposure" just do self - enhancement and expose yourself to them via walking by or if their is some cafeteria drinking or eating there etc , it can be for few minutes as well, with some casual friendly greeting or wave, then gradually as you're expose to them also, maybe start approaching them and have conversations.
