This happens when you are new, it’s ok to fail and not meet your goals right off the bat, our bodies as men overreact to rejection because back then if you messed up in the 50 person tribe that could be it for you, it takes time to get used to approach anxiety but keep pushing it, your body can and WILL get used to it

The way I desensitized myself from the fear of approaching was by approaching indirectly at first. Ex: asking for directions, asking to borrow a pen, asking to watch my backpack while I run to the bathroom in the library, etc…. Then you can move to being more direct. In this case, a question like “how’d you feel about the exam” would’ve been a good way to start a convo.

Yeah man the thing is I’m always good at convo, like was talking to her for a bit after, laughing, and then just said see you later or whatever but I always don’t close to ask her out (I do still have her on our WhatsApp group but I’d much have rather asked for out in person the last time I’d realistically see her than text her after innit). Plenty more fish

You just have to make it a habit to always at least ask for the number, even if the interaction hadn’t gone as well as you hoped (unless the interaction left you genuinely uninterested in her by the end of it). Better to ask and get denied than to live in regret.

Yeah I agree with the indirects. I read that it’s best to obv do direct complimenting and asking her out, so I figured I might as well skip straight to direct, but feel like I might need to start indirect like you said. Asking where something is or whatever and then asking her after

Feel the pain as intense as you can and then promise yourself to dont run away again. I'm 27 y.o, when I was 24 y.o in the university there was this girl that was so fkcng beautiful, we always saw each other, I thought she wanted something with me, obviously she wanted me to approach her. Long story short, all the opportunities to approach (there were several) were a fail, I was so fkng scared, later a friend in common told me that She liked me, that hurt me a lot more, but this was my best lesson in life, commiting myself to not commit the same mistake again.
P.S this is more philosophical stuff, I dont approach all the girls I want tbh but I do quite commonly, for me the thing that gives me the most courage to approach is thinking that I can die in any moment, when I think about death I'm almost unstoppable

You haven't let me down. I don't know you and don't give a fuck about you or whether you approached or not. When you finally realize that it is more embarrassing to be a do nothing Bitch than to actually attempt something by worthwhile, you will lose all fear of approaching.
