Most guys are nervous to approach, especially if the girl doesn't seem approachable. Meaning she dead stares him or something. Try making eye contact and giving a little smile, they will feel more comfortable to approach.

That last line is why most of us are here. No one teaches us how to flirt, so we do what we can, and a lot of times we're not obvious or we're just testing the waters and getting info to see if your available, and if you're not we move on. A lot of guys here are trying to find out how to approach women without being a creep but also being forward enough to be interesting, or interesting enough to be forward.

The reason you see a lot of guys come out of the woodwork is because they hadn't figured out how to approach you. They were into you until you started something new and there wasn't any reason to hide or pursue something with you anymore and they want to get their feelings off their chest because they've been holding them back for so long and they figure might as well actually talk to her now. Not that its logical or something that will work to get you to date them, but more of a release valve of feelings that have been kept inside and now have no place to go and no positive outcome other than coming clean. We are often afraid of losing a valued relationship by pursuing something more with that person, and it can be worse when we feel like they are easy to talk to about everything else. Human emotions are messy that way.

However, I would say that if you are having a fun conversation with a guy, you could probably ask them if they want a drink in your room and they'd accept unless they are monogamous with someone else. Most guys can get to the conversation stage and can't figure out how to take it further. It won't be true all the time but many guys will consider conversation to be their flirting style, even if they are never obvious about it. If the thought of making that kind of invitation to someone your attracted to is daunting, then you can start to understand better why you don't get very obviously hit on so much. Conversation is easy, escalation is hard, and rejection is scary/painful.
