Go in without any expectations. Like she said, see how the vibe is.

My 2 relationships started almost exactly like this. It's the best way to start a relationship I think, obviously there's probably bias there but you're building a relationship on such a strong existing foundation. For me it didn't happen exactly like this though, we would just lean on each other more and sit closer and be more affectionate I suppose, never really talked about it much. And one day when I just couldn't take it anymore I just asked "is it ok if I kiss you" and the rest is history. Literally, because she has a drug problem and I can't have a cancerous sore in my life like that anymore (the drugs not her) and my other friend that became a thing for a while just changed a lot when a label got put on it. That's the biggest thing I can say though, don't let the label change everything. People have a way of getting too clingy or controlling sometimes when a label gets put on things.
Just keep doing what you're doing m8, you've built a long friendship with her and if the chemistry is there you guys already know you mean a lot to each other. Just follow your heart and gut and let the pieces fall where they may, don't expect anything just do what feels right and be happy

Awesome man, you got this. But do remember, on one hand if things go well, you got an amazing relationship with someone who is your best friend. On the other hand if things don't go well, you lose the relationship and the friendshio for 8 years.

It’s not, they’re wrong, follow your heart.

What part of this story belongs on r/seduction?
Besides there is so much detail and context missing from this. How tf is someone supposed to know you live across 2 different continents? And how are you expecting to meet regularly if you live across 2 continents?
To me it sounds like you are lonely and latching on to the one person who gives you some attention. I’d be very careful about this…it’s not only unhealthy, it also means putting a lot of pressure on your “friend”

As someone whose dated a best friend of about 8 years, you’ve got that friend one mentality while OP is following his heart and has a date now.

The ‘problem’ that can occur with this is that you’ll enter the friendship mode. This means old times with her would come back to you and you’ll act like a friend. Be wary of this. The only thing you need to add is some escalation to show your interest and gauge hers (slight touching, flirty comments and such). Good luck :)
