Sorry but I’m gonna tell you to Temper your overwhelming crush. What if he’s gay, what if he does have a girlfriend, what if he doesn’t want a relationship, or a relationship with you? Sorry to be blunt but I don’t want you to get devastated if it doesn’t go how you expect …..etc …
Do this, ping him on social media and simply say “Hey! How are you doing! Take me out, let’s get to know each other better! I’m free on x day, x time ….” And then don’t say another word … just go about your life and your school and your pursuits. If this guy is interested in you and available he will respond to that and likely take you out.

3 if he doesn’t - then he’s saved you a ton of wasted trouble. That would suck but better to know quickly than not….

I was in the exact same situation as you. This girl I knew - she was stunning and gorgeous and I wanted to get to know her. I asked her and she said yes. We went out a few times. Anyway just walk up to him , tell him you like him and that he's not obligated to do anything with that information and then walk away and just act normal afterwards.
